You will receive your deed poll and copies within 24 hours of approving your electronic copy of the deed poll that we send to you on the day that you ordered the service.
Are there any restrictions on what you can change your name to?
The UK, unlike many countries, have very few restrictions as to what you can change your name to but, there are still a few to take into consideration.
The regulations state that as long as you are not using the name change to upset, deceive, defraud or avoid justice, then we will be able to prepare a deed poll for you.
Who needs a deed poll?
Many individuals decide to change their name, but documentary evidence is needed to make any name change official.
Do I need to send my deed poll back once it's been signed?
No, you do not need to return your deed poll back to us once you have signed it, had it witnessed and dated the document.
What is a certified copy and why do I need them?
A certified copy is a copy of the original deed poll with an endorsement to say it is a real copy of the official document. Once you have changed your name via deed poll you need to notify everyone of your name change. Each company, organisation and government department need to receive a certified copy of your name change to accept it.
We recommend that you order 10 additional certified copies of your deed poll as there are many business and companies that you need to inform.
What other fees are involved?
Our deed poll service costs just £14.99 + £2 per certified copy if required. Further fees many occur when changing your name on personal documents such as your passport.
How will I be sent my deed poll document?
We will send you your deed poll and any certified copies to you within 1-2 working days via The Royal Mail 1st class delivery service.
